MUSIC

Posted by Warrickneff - March 12th, 2008

Yes, I know I've asked before, but this time I'm serious. I plan on running a marathon towards the end of May, and it's gonna take me anywhere from 3 to 4 hours. As such, I will need 3 to 4 hours of music that is good enough that I WILL NOT SKIP A SINGLE SONG. That's important, because I'm gonna be in a right mood while I'm running this thing, and music should not be a bother.

So, suggest away. WIth my current playlist, I know it's not possible. I do know for sure though, that the last 40 minutes will be the entire Justice - Cross album.

Here's my current selection and what I've been listening to

ALL IN ALL TELL ME YOUR THREE FAVORITE SONGS! MORE IF YOU WANT!

Nice header. ^_^

:) thanks

I'm gonna change it soon

Voices of Violence- Billy Talent
Red Flag- Billy Talent
Polar 240- ParagonX9 of the NG portal
The Chaoz Songs- also ParagonX9
Deflection- ParagonX9
Pushing Me Away (TXE! Remix)- BananaClock of the NG portal (search with the oletter i, not an L)

And

Thanks man, I'll consider some Billy Talent for a couple songs. I've got a lot of time to fill, but I'm hoping to not have to skip a song.

ParagonX9 is sweet, but I don't think I'll play anything from Newgrounds. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a snob and studio artists usually have extra quality.

Our Lady Peace - A Decade (Great Album)

OLP!

Shit, I barely have any and they've got so many good songs. Thanks! I know for sure a couple will make it to the final cut.

The Mentors - Golden Showers
Resonance - Dimensional
Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark

Man, finding a listen-able youtube or last.fm song for the Mentors and Resonance are hard! From what I've heard, Mentors are like GWAR, and Resonance is like nothing I've ever heard before. More research is needed.

I have the CoB Fear of the Dark cover, and it's pretty sweet. I may consider putting a couple Iron Maidon and CoB tracks on, but they have be good enough that I won't skip them or get bored of them during a run.

Thanks!

Powerman 5000
Pepper
Rebelution
Supervillains

They're not exactly your style as far as I can see, but they're good bands

Thanks man, I'll be sure to check these bands out. I like Powerman 5000 more than the slow reggae/ska sound that the other bands dabble in. P5000 Sort of reminds me of Orgy, and they're a good band.

Although they may not make my "oh so special" list, they're good in their own right and I may add them to other playlists.

Stricken - Disturbed
Temptation - Godsmack
Ruler of Your Blood- Carnal Forge
Paint it Black - Rolling Stones
Feuier Frei - Rammstein

Thanks!

I've grabbed a different version of Paint it Black, it's sweet. Also, I have a lot of Rammstein so that's definitely gonna make it on the list.

Unwritten Law - The Celebration Song
Disturbed - Decadence

Yeah I play Need For Speed. :'(

I've never played NFS game.

Kindof weird eh? I like the Unwritten Law song though, I've heard it around before. Not a big fan of Disturbed though :P

Thanks!

Album Suggestions:
Our Lady Peace - Happiness Is Not A Fish You Can Catch
Our Lady Peace- Gravity
Weezer - Pinkerton
Rise Against - The Sufferer and the Witness
Rise Against - Siren Song of the Counter Culture
Death Cab For Cutie - Plans

Single Song Suggestions:
Bill Conti - Gonna Fly Now (Rocky Theme)
Survior - Eye of the Tiger
James Cafferty- Hearts on Fire
Papa Roach - To Be Loved
Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
Drowning Pool - Step Up

Marathon, eh? I'd suggest some songs, but I have a feeling we don't share the same taste in music. The only two bands that I know and like on your list are Radiohead and OLP. That's it. I like almost anything by Matthew Good Band, Smashing Pumpkins, Sam Roberts among others, but I wouldn't classify them as "marathon" music. There's also guilty pleasures like Ace of Base, lol.

Good luck with your marathon man. I think I have shin splints from all the walking we did over the weekend. I wonder how many miles we walked.

Incubus. Get everything. Listen through it beforehand and pick out the ones you like.

I'd suggest:
- Are you in?
- Out from Under
- Dig
- Anna-Mollie
- Drive
- Talk Show on Mute
- Wish you Were Here
- A Certain Shade of Green
- Consequence

I'd also second the OLP recommendation. I particularly like the songs:
- Waited
- Blister
- Thief
- 4AM
- Apology
- State of Love and Trust
- Will the Future Blame us?
- Angels / Losing / Sleep
- Innocent
- Do you like it?

I didn't look at your music page because it took too long to load and I'm impatient. GL on the marathon. I'd suggest you plan out your playlist ahead of time and mix it up properly. Know which points you're going to want to hear mellow music and which points are going to require angry music or whatever.

Oh... Goo Goo Dolls. Get their stuff.

You're a girl?

'fraid not.

Incubus is the shit.
